Hi! I’m David. I’m an Emmy nominated freelance film editor and former producer who has been working to bring films to life for over 15 years. Pleasure to meet you.
In the world of film, editing was my first love. There is nothing I enjoy more than being able to collaborate with people from all creative walks, and help bring their stories to life, one scene, one shot, one moment at a time.
I started my career as an editor, and now fortuitously find myself back at the helm of the edit suite. But along the way, I had the great privilege of working as a producer on projects small and large, evolving my skills in character development, narrative structure, and audience insights for me to pack along in my editors tool bag.
Most recently, I was a Producer at Vulcan Productions where I shepherded feature documentaries and television programming from development to distribution. Titles include the Sundance-award winning film, The Reason I Jump, Oliver Sacks: His Own Life, Anonymous Sister, The Cold Blue, and USS Indianapolis: The Final Chapter, among others.
Prior to that, I was a Producer and Project Manager for the Communications team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, responsible creating content to support the foundation’s various strategies, including Polio, Vaccine Development, Agriculture, Maternal Health, Family Homelessness, and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene.
With so many stories out there in the world, I love meeting and working with a variety of collaborators, new or old.
So, hi! Feel free to say hi back, and I look forward to meeting you.
